On the official site the latest version is 0.9.6.

VLC 0.9.8a gave me an error. The silent switch wasn’t working for some reason. I’m not sure if they silently updated the installer on their site. I might give it another try these days but most probably we should wait for the next version.

I Don’t think 0.9.8a should even be considered at this point. (I swear it should still be in alpha)
Takes 2min to START a dvd (and don’t even try starting a dvd w/o menu’s as it just crashes VLC)
Only reason im here is to snag .9.7 to replace .9.8a

crap, nvm, I forgot what version I had before the format but that’s the one I need. .9.7 is crap too (and I hate to sound like a flamer)
Whenever they switched over the UI from the basic buttons to the “ohh pretty” is when VLC started sucking and for different reasons then the UI (i actually like the new UI, just everything else seems broke)
