What do you mean it’s not the official one? The MD5 above is for the nLite addon. The .exe inside of the archive was downloaded from videolan.org and obviously has another MD5 (971e0537b7f8cee87bf083ab603efdad).
Extract the .exe from the archive and you will see it’s the same as the MD5 from your link:
971e0537b7f8cee87bf083ab603efdad vlc-0.9.4-win32.exe
