This would seem to imply that the folder is only hidden on THAT system (rootkit?).  It seems likely that if you take the physical drive and attach it to another system you would be able to access the "hidden" files.

Unfortunately the website is unclear on this point, but one should carefully consider if this amounts to sufficient protection or if something like TrueCrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/) would be a better option.</description>

					<description>i had this little prog for about 3 months in my "free for all" laptop. i havent tried transferring the physical drive to another system. i would agree with you on that. i cant think of a way if ever your drive was transferred or maybe windows got screwed and you cant boot, that you can access the locked folder. backup is still the best way to make sure your files are safe. anyway, this prog just fulfills my need to keep my personal files "personal".</description>
