Is Facebook breaching people’s privacy?

Facebook is just one of the many social networking sites out there and they promote their sites as a tool to get people connected with their friends and to give old friends a chance to reunite once more through them. It’s a very sincere and exciting purpose and surely there is no problem with that, right? Wrong!

Unfortunately, facebook.com and other social networking sites fail to consider the effect of having sites like them and how they breach people’s privacy without their knowing. Because of lack of awareness and people’s ignorance, they fail to realize that posting their personal information online and uploading their personal photos would make them more susceptible for crimes and abuse.

In the past, if you want to track down a person, you would have to do it the hard way and most of the time, you would not be given the right for personal information without valid reasons. But now, if you want to track down a person, you just have to check their facebook accounts or add them up to get instant access to their personal info. This just makes the criminals smile with joy as facebook and other sites just made it much easier for them to find their next victim. Amazing, isn’t it?
